Description
Appealing Frogeye in regular use; 1,098cc engine upgrade; weather
equipment; recent carpets and alternator conversion; driven 45 miles to the
sale; steel bonnet
Built and despatched in March 1960, this
Iris blue Frogeye was despatched to Mr Lees of Morris Motors, Oxford -
which warrants further investigation as it may well have had an interesting
start in life.
Ordered as a UK spec car, it comes with a BMIHT
Certificate and a Continuation Buff Logbook which shows lots of owners enjoyed
this Frogeye, especially during the late '70s. The vendor acquired it from one
of its more long-term keepers, in this case from 1984 to 2021 - 37 years of
Frogeye fun.
Bills on file date from the vendor's ownership and include
a brake service in May this year, some rechroming and new carpets. It also has
an alternator conversion, looking like its original dynamo. It retains its
steel bonnet and the more observant of you will notice that at some point it has
lost its top seams - the paintwork also exhibiting signs of
microblistering.
It retains its nice number 204 HJO which remains
transferable and was driven to us - a journey of around 45 miles.
Offered at a very reasonable estimate, this genuine 'use and improve'
Sprite looks excellent value and lots of fun.
