Later face-lift model with
powerful 300bhp 4.2 V8; pretty coupe showing just 71,000 miles with useful
recent works in a desirable colour combination
Supplied new by PV Dobson & Sons, Bridgend Garage Jaguar
dealers Kendal in January 2004, this face-lift example of the popular X100
series XK8 Coupe is finished in Quartz Grey (LHK) and sits upon attractive
five-spoke 19” alloy wheels.
Under that shapely
nose we find the much-improved (over the earlier 4.0 engine) 4.2 litre AJ34 V8
engine which develops 300bhp and a useful 420NM of torque driving the rear
wheels via six-speed ZF 6HP26 automatic transmission with Sport
mode.
Inside the cockpit, we find the
traditional warmth of the XK8, which was likened by Clarkson at launch to “the
inside of Blenheim Palace” with electrically adjustable Ivory (NED) leather
seats featuring driver memory, electric lumbar adjustment, walnut trim, traction
control, automatic lights, half-timbered multi-function steering wheel, heated
seats, automatic climate control with AC and valet mode.
Showing just 71,000 miles the
car has been with our vendor since purchase from us last May since when he has
unfortunately lost his garage space. It was with the previous owner for 11
years prior to that covering only a couple of thousand miles per year in the
past few years. The history file
includes the V5C revealing just four former owners, the owner’s pack,
secondary pack and service book recording nine stamps including PDI, the last by
NM Jags of Bristol in January 2011 at 47,802 miles (although it was more
recently serviced, but unstamped).
In addition,
we also find two old MOTs, and a few recent recent bills for works
undertaken during our vendor's tenure including a service in November 2022
costing £297, replacement N/S and O/S upper suspension bushes, and replacement
N/S ABS hub ring at a cost of £821 in February 2023, AC re-gas in June
2022 plus replacement rear shock absorber, parking sensor and door
latch repairs in July 2022 costing some £953.
In addition, other bills
on file also document works in November 2020 at 67,202 miles to rectify a
DSC fault through fitment of a N/S/R speed sensor, replacement AC condenser pipe
seal and AC re-gas at a cost of £541 and replacement front Mintex brake pads in
February of this year. The current MOT is valid until February 2024
and recorded no advisories.
A nice bonus is the inclusion of the
cherished plate, J700 XKB which, if you look hard enough, could read
'XK8'....
Ready to be enjoyed, in a super
colour scheme boasting lower mileage and useful recent works these
later 4.2 Coupes offer most buyers all the luxury and performance needed for a
big comfortable GT car and this one is on offer at no reserve so the best bid
takes it home.
