Dating from September 2002 this later 986 series Boxster comes to us in punchy 3.2 S guise, the most powerful variant of its range at the time.

Finished in Basalt Black (LC9Z) the car rides on a set of 18” five-spoke alloy wheels painted black with coloured Porsche centre caps and boasts a colour coded black soft-top with plastic rear screen suggesting this example is a pre-facelift car (it was changed to a heated glass screen on the 2002 facelift).

Sat amid-ships, we find the 3.2 litre flat-six engine which develops 247Bhp driving the rear wheels via five-speed automatic/tiptronic transmission giving a zero to sixty time (when new) of 6.2 seconds.

The spec of this car, taken off the under bonnet sticker reveals it to have been specified (when new) with black leather interior (Z4), 18” Sport Design wheels (XRL), tiptronic gear lever with Porsche crest (X46), aluminium handbrake lever (X98), stronger battery (197), five-speed tiptronic transmission (249), tiptronic buttons for steering wheel (432), radio preparation (441), coloured Porsche crest wheel caps (446), produced at the Valmet plant, Finland (502), park assist (635), Becker CDR-22 radio (695) and leather seats with leatherette sides (946).

Showing 94,250 miles the car looks sharp all in black with the additional small rear spoiler but there are some marks to the body/paint and wheels as pictured, but commensurate with its age and mileage.

The history file includes the V5C revealing 13 former keepers to our vendor who purchased the car in December 2018, covering only c.700 miles in this time. In addition, we find a replacement service book with four stamps and five further hand-written entries, the last in February 2022 at 94,038 miles by Esprit Engineering which included replacement brake pipes and fluid with invoice on file along with an old V5C and selection of other invoices for parts and work carried out.  We also find 14 old MOTs plus current valid until February 2024 with one minor advisory recorded.
