Description
No Reserve
Rare to see example that was
restored with photographic record through 2016-17; 5-speed 'box; galvanised
chassis; hard-top and glass sunroof showing 82,300 miles
Dating from April 1987 this dainty, yet sporting Reliant Scimitar
SS-1 is finished in light teal blue and sits on a set of 14” five-spoke alloy
wheels and boasts a black vinyl soft-top along with seperate GRP hard-top
finished in Gold with glass tilt sunroof.
Under
the sloping bonnet, we find 1.6 litre Ford sourced CVH four-cylinder petrol
engine which was reputed to pump out 96bhp and 180NM of torque when new, driving
the rear wheels via five-speed manual transmission.
Inside, we find checker seats (which look to be from a TR7), manual
windows and much Ford/Austin/Rover sourced switchgear and an integral roll over
hoop for safety. The car started
promptly with a neat little battery isolator switch hidden down on the driver’s
side of the transmission tunnel.
This example,
as a post 1986 model features the galvanised chassis and single windscreen wiper
and as such looks to have remained in good order showing just 82,300
miles.
The history file includes the V5C
recording 14 former keepers, an old V5C, the current MOT valid until August 2023
with two minor advisories recorded (exhaust minor leak and oil leak), three old
MOTs and a selection of invoices for parts purchased as well as some older bills
along with photographs of a light restoration conducted through
2016/17 (from what we can gather via the owner's club, internet and limited
information on file) and useful repair manual.
Ready to be enjoyed, this lightweight roadster has much
to like and is on offer at No Reserve, so the highest bid takes it
home.
