Description
Turbo conversion from donor car; sensible miles; for recommissioning
after a period off road; on offer via a deceased estate
This
much-loved 900 16v Convertible dates from 1989 and led a pretty standard life
for a Saab until 2007. By this time, it had around 156,000 miles on the clock
and its owner decided to spice it up a bit, turning it into a 16S
Turbo spec model thanks to the availability of a donor car
for parts.
The swap was undertaken by Saab specialist Saabflight, the
invoice totalling £3,000 and covering a swap of all necessary mechanical parts,
an engine overhaul and loom swap, dash and clocks and the leather interior. They
then set it all up and delivered it back to the owner.
It has
covered under 10,000 miles since and was last on the road in 2009. It was
presented for an MOT in 2016 which highlighted a fair few jobs that needed
doing, the car having been in storage (and kept for sentimental reasons) ever
since.
The accompanying file includes a service book with 29 records,
mostly at Buckingham and Stonley in Cambridge. We have not tried the hood but
the engine does turn freely.
A great project on offer at No Reserve so
the highest bid buys the car...
