Lot Ended
Description
Unusually original two owner example that's been hiding away for a few
years showing just 87,686 miles with scope for recommissioning and some cosmetic
improvements
Dating from January 2000 this cool
and uncommonly stock looking 1st generation, late model Impreza comes
to us from a period of hibernation and is finished in the unusual, but
attractive colour of dark copper/red and sits upon a set of attractive 16”
six-spoke alloy wheels.
Under that lovely
scooped bonnet, we find the popular 2.0-litre EJ20 turbocharged flat-four
cylinder Boxer engine developing c.201bhp as a GC8K Turbo 2000 version, with
power going to all-four wheels via five-speed manual transmission offering lots
of fun and the added security of all-wheel drive. We did note fitment of a
larger bore exhaust which lets some of the mellow Boxer warble out a little more
than stock.
Inside, we find black cloth sports
seats with grey inserts, electric windows, MOMO steering wheel, heated rear
screen, headlight wash, electric mirrors, radio/CD player and after-market gear
knob.
The car has been stood since 2015/2016
when the last test expired (it passed with no advisories) at which time is
showed 87,317 miles and was pulled out of hibernation earlier this year and
presented for MOT when it failed on 12 points, although nothing that would scare
many Scooby lovers away, much of it relating to having stood still, with only
c.300 miles had been covered between tests.
The
history file includes the V5C recording just one former keeper to the vendor who
has owned the car since 2002, the owner’s pack and service book which records 11
older stamps, the original purchase invoice, a few invoices, Tracker info and
keys.
An interesting opportunity to restore
this low mileage, two owner 1st generation Impreza to its former
glory and look forward to a good blat across some open country
roads.
