Lot Ended
Description
Restored in the early 1990s and only 12,600 miles since; huge history
file; driven 85 miles to the sale
Dating from
April 1969, this TR6 was sold new to the American market and returned to the UK
in the early 1990s. It was then treated to a complete body-off restoration by
the owner, proprietor of Manor Garage of Ammanford, as documented by a very
large file of invoices which we are told total some £15,000 in parts alone – a
considerable sum in those days.
Many more
invoices show regular upkeep since, including various upgrades such as: Koni gas
suspension and uprated springs (25% lower and stiffer); polybushes throughout;
electric cooling fan; electronic ignition; stainless steel exhaust; Safety
Devices rear roll hoop with built-in wind diffuser etc.
A dozen old MOTs show that it has been in regular light use,
covering some 12,600 miles since the restoration was completed in 1995, the
odometer currently showing 90,383 miles.
Our
vendor acquired the car in 2013 but has used it very lightly, only adding around
1,000 miles in the last 10 years. As you can see in the photos, the restoration
has held up well and the car still looks very presentable today. Driven some 85
miles to the sale, it has been starting easily and running very sweetly as we
have moved it around on site, with good 55psi oil pressure.
