Only 21,300 miles from new; rare 6-speed manual; 400bhp and 400lb/ft; 0-60 in 4.3 seconds and 186mph; hard to find in the UK, let alone in this condition; what a stunner!

Launched way back in 1953, the iconic Chevrolet Corvette has remained in production ever since and is widely acknowledged as the most successful sports car in motoring history. The C6 model ran from 2005 – 2013 and, like all its forebears, had a lightweight fibreglass body with wonderfully dramatic styling which left no doubt that it was a very fast car indeed.

Under the bonnet lurked the mighty LS2 V8,  a famously reliable 6-litre producing 400bhp and 400lb/ft which could launch the Vette to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds with a top speed of 186mph and up to 30mpg economy.

Dating from February 2006, this Corvette C6 has only covered 21,338 miles from new, as warranted by numerous invoices and 15 MOTs on file. A rare 6-speed manual model, it also has a removable Targa roof section, keyless entry and start-up and a dual flow exhaust system which sounds amazing!

Imported from Florida when it was just six months old, it was put through the VOSA SVA test to make it suitable for UK use, a £1,862 job which basically meant converting the front and rear lights. Various invoices show routine upkeep over the years, although it doesn’t seem to have needed much apart from the odd oil and filter change, the last about 1,000 miles ago.

Our vendor, who is the third private owner from import, acquired the car in early 2021 and has used it sparingly in fine weather only, keeping it garaged when not in use. As you can see in the photos, it is in really lovely condition throughout with no faults that the vendor is aware of.

Driven some 70 miles to the sale, it has an MOT until April 2024 with no advisories recorded. An owner’s handbook is also present, along with a luggage net, a stowage bag for the Targa roof panel and two sets of keys. A retired car designer of some repute, our vendor is a thoughtful chap and has even left over half a tank of fuel in the car. The icing on the cake is the personalised number plate, G6 VTE, which is transferable and doubtless has a value of its own.

Any Corvette is a fine thing to own but the C6 is a particularly attractive model. It is also particularly rare on these shores and you will need to look far and wide to find another for sale, let alone a 6-speed manual that looks as sharp as this one. Go on, you only live once…
