Lot Ended
Description
A
delightfully original machine in fine fettle; a well-known bike with lots of
history from long-term ownership; four owners from new!
Sold new to
a Mr Norfolk of Knaresborough in March 1927, the first owner change is dated
December 1945 - 18 years later. Mr Walker of Otley was to retain the machine
until the late 1960s, the combination passing to its third owner, Mr Marston who
lived in Pudsey. Our vendor bought the machine from Mr Marston in 1999 and has
enjoyed it greatly since, including taking the kids to school and for general
family transport.
Running sweetly on arrival onsite, it has been much
admired due to its impressive size and gorgeous original condition. With nearly
1,000cc, it has plenty of go and comes with some old tax discs, three buff
logbooks and an advert showing it cost £98 in 1927....about 10% cheaper than an
Austin 7...
There are also some notes on running, some invoices and we
are pleased to say retains its original registration number WW 298. It also has
a small bag of useful tools and parts.
