Description
Interesting 90 that's seen some useful works and improvements inc. big
tyres; sump gaurd, checker plate; sunroof; snorkel, replacement 300TDI engine,
300TDI transmission and Salisbury axles
Dating
from March 1987 this Land Rover 90 4C is finished in Red and sits atop a yellow
chassis and has been the subject of what looks to have been significant overhaul
works including fitment of a donor 300TDI engine and transmission as well as
some interior trim from a 1998 Defender 300TDI.
Photos on file show the body and chassis being worked on and
restored during which time the chassis and engine bay were painted
yellow.
We are also told the axles fitted are
Salisbury variants offering better road manners than the conventional items
giving the 300tdi unit more scope on modern roads.
Looking rather beefy on it big tyres and utilitarian steel wheels
with checker plating, sump guard and snorkel, this truck looks like it could be
rather a lot of fun on a green lane or two.
The
history file includes the v5C of the truck showing 10 former keepers to our
vendor who’s owned it some 10 years plus the V5C of the donor Defender,
information on the Exmoor trim load area acoustic matting fitted, photos of the
restorative works, some 21 old MOTs and the current, valid until May 2024
recording no advisories.
Charge the battery
(its flat) and she looks ready to rock and roll.
