Professionally rebuilt engine 2019; electric water pump conversion
kit; good colour; hard top; Auto box; Monit GPS rally timer;
wind-deflector
First registered in August 1972, this all-black
Stag comes to us from a deceased estate, the late owner acquiring the car
back in 2017.
In 2019 he employed E J Ward Motor Engineers to
comprehensively recondition the engine and while it was out, make some small
repairs to the floor and front outrigger. The bill totalled more than
£6,544.
Included in this work was a comprehensive engine overhaul,
including replacement conrods, and it was rebuilt with new ancilliaries and
gaskets. A new front pulley was included, along with a Supergill radiator
conversion and an electric water pump. It was also fitted with a set of tubular
exhaust manifolds.
Classic Car Enterprises billed £1,615 for repairs to
the bodywork, work which included repairs ot the nearside sill and rear wing,
the job expanding to include much of the rest of the car including cleaning all
inner arches, floor and chassis and undersealing as required.
An Experian
check suggests it started like painted white, changing to the current black
livery back in 1986.
Fitted with an automatic box, the vendor's late
husband added an expensive Monit G100+ GPS speedometer and a rear
wind-deflector. The car also comes complete with a hard top.
There are a
few areas where the bodywork could do with some attention in due course,
particularly the offside front wheel arch. It hasn't seen much use for a while
too, so could do with a precautionary service before hitting the streets once
again.
