Description
In-vogue 90's Fast Ford RS1800 with twin Webers fitted; enthusiast
owner; well known car in the RS scene; goes well, sounds superb on
carbs
Dating from November 1994 this MkIII Ford
Fiesta RS1800 comes from the later part of MkIII production (1989-1997) and was
the replacement model for the RS Turbo and is finished in Tourmaline Green and
sits upon its original 15” five-spoke alloy wheels and wears its original
discreetly flared body-kit well.
Under the
bonnet, we find the 1.8 litre Zetec four-cylinder petrol engine that develops
130bhp (around the same as the RS Turbo it replaced) driving the front wheels
via five-speed manual transmission.
We note fitment here of a few choice modifications including twin Weber
Carbs (thus doing away with the original fuel injection system) which gives the
car a very rorty induction sound, some Roose Motorsport silicone hoses, NodizPro
3D ignition management, heat wrapped pipes, clear timing belt cover and
four-branch manifold with Magnex backbox.
Inside the car, we find the supremely
comfortable, wrap around sports seats in grey cloth, electric windows, sunroof,
RS1800 floor mats, heated front and rear screens, front fog lights, digital
clock, an aftermarket panel with water temperature gauge, ignition light and
voltmeter as well as additional tweeter speakers on the
dash.
This hot little hatch shows just 85,661
miles and has been with our enthusiast vendor since April 2018 since when he has
enjoyed the car sparingly including attending various annual RS club events, the
car being well known within that circle. As a result, the car presents well,
starting promptly, running well and sounding very rorty as we moved it around
for these images and short video.
The history
file includes the V5C revealing seven former keepers to our vendor, the owner’s
pack and service book recording three stamps and a further three hand-written
entries (the last stamp was in 1996 at 29,574 miles, and the last hand written
entry in 2003 at 68,800 miles).
In addition, the file also includes 18
old MOTs which look to back the mileage up, a Clifford Alarm booklet and
installation certificate, DVLA ownership history along with a few invoices for
sundry parts purchased during our vendors tenure.
The current Mot is valid until July 2024 and recorded no advisories
suggesting this Retro Fast Ford is ready to be enjoyed, or tucked away as a tidy
investment.
