First registered in October 1992, this Mercedes 190E has covered 145,090 miles with no fewer than 23 MOTs to warrant this figure. A 4-speed automatic model with the 125bhp 2.0 petrol engine and a top speed of 120mph, it also has ABS brakes, electric windows and sunroof and a JVC CD/radio.

In the current lady ownership since 2008, it has had five former keepers, most of them listed in copies of old V5 documents on file, the fourth owner being a wedding hire company in Swansea who had it registered as A1 WED.

Although there is no service book with the car, there are a few invoices showing upkeep since 2003. Recent expenditure includes new rear shock absorbers in 2015; new n/s/f coil spring, exhaust backbox and full service in 2020; new radiator in 2021; new o/s/f coil spring and four new tyres in 2022. An immobiliser is also fitted to the right of the headlight switch which works as it should.

As you can see in the photos, the car looks to be in good condition with nice paintwork and a tidy interior apart from the trim on the rear passenger door which has warped where it meets the window (a typical fault on the 190).

Driven 100 miles to the sale, it has an MOT until July 2024 with three minor advisories which you can view by putting the registration number into the MOT check website. The original owner’s handbook is also included along with the instruction booklet for the JVC stereo.

Starting promptly and running well as we have moved it around on site, this last of the properly built Mercedes should have plenty of life in it yet. The reserve is somewhat lower than the guide price so bid vigorously now and it could be you who drives it home...
