Description
Appealing 3.0 S2 944 with considerable history file inc. £7,000 engine
overhaul in 2017 by Hartech Porsche
Supplied new
by AFN Porsche Centre London in August 1990, this sharp looking Porsche 944 S2
(Series 2) is presented in Turquoise Blue (LM5M) with rubber rear spoiler and
sits upon its original 16” Design-90 alloy wheels finished in
silver.
Under the bonnet, we find the 3.0-litre
naturally aspirated M44/41 four-cylinder engine which develops 208bhp with power
being sent to the rear wheels via five-speed manual
transmission.
Inside, it has light
grey leather comfort spec seats with two-way electrical adjustment, electric
windows, electric mirrors, electric lift-out sunroof (removable, and can be
stowed in the boot), digital clock and retro-fit modern Alpine touch screen with
Apple car play/Bluetooth etc.
The car shows
163,632 miles and looks well, with some typical scabbing and signs of age to the
sections behind the rear wheels as pictured and a few other marks commensurate
with its age/mileage as shown and was driven to the sale by our vendor who has
enjoyed the car for the last four years.
The
history file includes the V5C revealing six former keepers to our vendor, the
owner's pack and service book showing an impressive 20 maintenance stamps plus a
further five stamps for coolant/brake fluid changes. The last stamped service was in March
2020 at 145,494 miles by Cotswold Porsche Specialists.
In addition, the file also includes a Porsche CD, Alpine head unit
manual, two old V5 registration documents, service history information sheets
showing the car was sold by renowned Porsche specialist Phil Raby in 2016, was
inspected by Peter Morgan Consulting following a purchase from Raby with a
documented £7,316 top end engine overhaul including timing belt and clutch
renewal by Hartech Porsche in May 2017 at 132,710 miles.
Work undertaken since includes fitment of braided brake pipes
and Bilstein B6 Sport rear shocks (2018) plus refurbished wheels. The car also has an Autowatch
immobiliser fitted with installation certificate (2001).
More recently, the car was given a service in August 2023 when it
was also Mot’d costing £1,020 by Cotswold Porsche Specialists. Another recent spend in April 2023
included two new sills at a cost of £1,700. We also note 12 old MOTs plus the
current, valid until July 2024 which recorded just one advisory for a
deteriorated front number plate.
An added bonus of this Lot is the
inclusion of the 944 number plate.
