Lot Ended
Description
Ex-Dunsfold Collection; smart example that has been off the road since
2014 and now partially recommissioned; lots done, little to
do
Delivered new by Guy Salmon Land Rover of Surrey in October
1998 to full 50th Anniversary Station Wagon spec, this petrol powered 1.8-litre
manual has the full spec leather upholstery and is based on the already
well-equipped XEi version. It comes with 16" alloys, roof rails, aluminium side
steps, air con and a CD autochanger.
Just 3,000 three- and five-door
versions were made, most finished in unique Atlantis Blue and they sold out
quickly.
This car has seven owners showing on the V5C and was regularly
serviced until 2004 by which time it had covered 73,411 miles. A note shows a
later cambelt change at 80,371 miles.
There are some subsequent invoices
on file, showing a head gasket change in 2005, the car's most recent MOT taking
place in January 2014 at 126,427 miles which it passed with no
advisories.
Shortly after the car joined the Dunsfold Collection when
another head job and cambelt change took place, the car remaining in storage
until our vendor acquired it directly from them in March this year.
He
has spent considerable time and effort recommissioning it, a job which included
a new cylinder liner, headgasket and new cambelt. The bill for this alone came
to £740.
He also gave the car a thorough service, some brake pipes,
coolant hoses and a brake overhaul with pads, discs, cylinders etc. A new
battery was also fitted in March 2023.
