Description
Appealing RHD manual transmission 122S; four owners; scope to use and
improve here and there
Dating from November 1968
this Volvo 122S is finished in pale green with dark green vinyl interior.
Under the bonnet we find the 1.8 litre four-cylinder
B18 series twin-carb petrol engine which was good for 85Bhp when new driving the
rear wheels via four-speed manual transmission.
The car comes to us from a local Volvo collector and enthusiast
along with Lot 65, the P1800 ES and presents well, although there are a few
localised areas as pictured that may benefit from some future cosmetic
improvements.
The history file includes the V5C
recording three keepers prior to our vendor who has owned it since January 2018,
manuals and magazines, one old MOT and a selection of bills for parts and
maintenance including a £1,649 spend in November 2020 on various service works
including a new master cylinder and £1,714 spend in February 2018 on various
works to get the car running well including a carb rebuild, new plugs etc.
A further £519 was spent around the same time
on various suspension components, £500 on rear brake shoes, cylinders, exhaust
works and some welding in 2019, replacement ignition barrel in 2017 and new
Bilstein shocks in 2018.
A usable example
of the popular Amazon model with lots of money recently spent and scope to
use and improve as desired.
