Description
1 bottle of The Macallan 37 year old Drumlamford Estate Single Malt Whisky 1969. In Bond at Corney & Barrow. Buyers must have a bond account to purchase this lot.
The history of the whisky is as follows:
Distilled in September 1969 by Macallan, Duncan Taylor, the famous Scotch Whisky merchant originally bought the cask direct from Macallan. Duncan Taylor has been buying and ageing whisky casks from prestigious distilleries around Scotland since 1938.
Initially matured in American new oak, the cask was changed by Duncan Taylor to a Sherry cask around the year 2003. It was aged in this new cask for a further 3 years before being bottled in November 2006 for the seller. A little less than 200 bottles were made.
The bottles are now stored at Corney & Barrow's storage facility in Hoddesdon having been stored at Octavian Cellars ever since Duncan Taylor bottled from cask.
The seller is well known to Corney & Barrow. The provenance and condition of the whisky is perfect.
