Lot Ended
Description
From a deceased estate; fully restored with a new body shell from 2002
- 2006 and only 5,400 miles since; green leather interior; walnut trim;
electric windows; power steering; wind-deflector; very nice indeed
Dating from April 1972, this
rather splendid MGB Roadster is on offer from a deceased estate. Purchased by
the current owner in June 2000 when the car was orange, it was used for a short
time before our man opted to completely restore it to what we see
here.
He ordered a new Heritage bodyshell finished in old English White
from MGB Hive which arrived in February 2002, along with a host of other parts
including five new 16” chrome wire wheels and a six-piece chrome bumper
set.
The full extent of the work carried out is far too detailed to list
in full here but is amply covered in many invoices and photos on file. It
included an engine rebuild, carbs rebuilt, suspension overhaul with upgrades to
improve the handling, power steering plus much else besides.
On the
inside it got lovely green leather seats which look far more comfortable than
the standard MGB seats, white faced instruments, walnut centre console and door
cappings, electric windows, a more modern radio/CD player and a quality Mohair
hood and wind deflector. It also has an overdrive gearbox.
Back on the
road in 2007 with the odometer re-set to zero, it looks to have only covered
some 5,400 miles since, mainly on MG Club events and navigation
rallies.
The history file includes the V5C, old style logbook, owner's
handbook, wiring diagrams, many invoices for parts relating to its rebuild,
related works and maintenance along with some 22 old MOTs dating back to
1988. Now of course MOT-exempt, the
last MOT expired in July 2022 recording no advisories, since when the car has
covered fewer than 500 miles.
As you can see in the photos, it looks to
be in super condition throughout and is ready for a new owner to enjoy.
