Description
Useful
recent expenditure including new brakes and aluminium fuel tank; driven to the
sale; an attractive example ready to enjoy
First registered in January 1956, this charming TR2 comes with a
good file of invoices back to the mid-1990s to show regular upkeep.
Older invoices of note include a full head refresh in
2009 by Damico of Norfolk along with other service items.
Also in
the histroy we find a Standard register certificate, this tells us that this TR2
left the factory finshed in British Racing Green, trimmed in red leather, and
came with the following options, wire wheels, right hand drive, imperial
calibrated instruments and no heater.
Purchased by our
vendor in 2022, he has continued to look after it well, as detailed in invoices
on file. This includes a new alumimium fuel
tank and new fuel lines. While the tank was out, the underside was cleaned
up and stone guarded, a full service took place, all new brakes were fitted
plus some other minor fettling, all the work being carried out by
Vintage Vehicle Restorers in Ludlow.
As you can see in the photos,
it looks most attractive with a nicely patinated interior. Some parts of
the seats look to have been reupholstered but are in keeping with the rest of
the interior. The chrome wire wheels look great against the British Racing
Green and appear to be in excellent condition. The bodywork itself appears to be
reassuringly straight and the paintwork looks smart with just a couple of minor
blemishes here and there.
Supplied with a full set
of wet weather gear and a tonneau, it was driven to the sale and has been
starting promptly and running nicely as we have moved it around on site, with
good 60psi oil pressure. It looks like a fun way to get around over
the remaining summer months.
