Lot Ended
Description
On offer from a deceased estate; much loved example that looks to be
part way through some dash work showing much promise with a smart set of
Minilite style wheels and walnut dash
Dating from September 1976
this MGB Roadster, along with Lot 18 in the sale, is on offer from a long
standing MG enthusiast, who sadly passed away last
year.
This B was evidently a work in
progress, with works abruptly coming to a halt mid way through what looks like a
dash change/fitment with walnut trim.
Presently finished in yellow,
and wearing a set of grey minilite style alloy wheels, there is a black vinyl
hood and removable hard top. The car shows much promise, and we are told the car
should start and run, although we have made no attempt given we do not know the
state of the wiring so er on the side of caution.
The history file
includes the V5C, with seven former keepers, the current since acquisition
in 2006, 13 old MOTs and a selection of photos and bills for historic works
undertaken including £5,191 spent in 2005 on a host of engine and other
works. A further £7,029 was spent in 2002 for a body re-paint,
alloy wheels, fitment of MkI grill, leather interior and walnut dash. There are also numerous other more
historic bills dating back to the 90s.
Its also clear the car has had
a couple of colour changes from blue to green to the yellow we see here, as
noted on various MOTs and photos on file. Also within the purchase information
from its eBay listing in 2006 when our vendor bought the
car.
An interesting car with lots
to offer, particularly for those who like to tinker and go through a car from
front to back ahead of enjoyment.
