gearbox rebuild and only 3,000 miles since; huge history file; jump in and
enjoy!
First registered in London in
February 1959.
Just three owners from new,
the first for 55 years, the second from 2014 – 2022.
Vast history file
back to the mid-1960s.
Heritage Certificate shows
that it was originally black with a red interior.
Never restored as
such, just kept in good running order with repairs and maintenance carried out
as required including a new Gold Seal engine in the late-1960s and new body
panels/sills in the 1970s and 1980s.
New hood and tonneau cover in
2006.
Engine and gearbox rebuilt in
2016 at c.98,500 miles (invoices plus photos on USB stick).
New clutch kit and all new rubber suspension bushes, engine mounts,
hoses, pipes etc. at around the same time.
New fuel tank and radiator
re-cored in 2020.
New Antique Red carpets and
underfelt in 2021 plus new seat belts.
New steering wheel in
2022.
39 old MOTs from 1967 – 2022
indicate that the recorded mileage of 101,544 is
correct.
In summary: A
well-maintained MGA 1500 with a huge history file that has only covered 3,000
miles since the engine and gearbox were rebuilt. Repainted at least twice in its
life, the paint is now somewhat dull and faded. Running and driving nicely on
site with good 60psi oil pressure, it is fighting fit mechanically with a nice
red leather interior and not so shiny that you will be scared to use it!
