1995 Rover 416 Si

Chassis number 001; ex-Gaydon Motor Museum; just 20,485 miles

After the 400 had been in production for five years, Rover launched a completely new version I march 1995. The new car was based on the contemporary Honda Civic platform but had all new body panels and was powered by a fuel Injected Rover k-series 16-valve engine which in 1.6-litre form produced 111Bhp.

First registered on 1^st April 1995, this particular 416SI is the very first example of the revised car to roll off the production line and so is stamped as chassis number 001. First registered to Rover group from new and subsequently staying with them for the next eight years, it spent most of this time on display in the Gaydon Motor Museum until being acquired by its first private owner in 2003, before he sold it on in 2015, the buyer subsequently sold it through Ourselves in 2019 when it was purchased by our vendor, making four keepers in total.

Presenting in striking kingfisher blue, our vendor has covered some 16,000 miles in his ownership, the odometer now reading just 20,485 miles, still in excellent condition, the car is now wearing a couple of age related marks as shown in the photos.

Coming with a good sized history folder, we can see recent expenditure that includes a timing belt kit in February 2020, along with a full service, a new nearside rear shock absorber in July 2020 and a service in February in 2021, alongside previous MOTs and MG magazines.

Coming with an advisory free MOT until March 2025, this is a rare opportunity to grab yourself a piece of British motoring history.
