Description
1999 Jaguar XK8 (X100)
Unusual in Phoenix red
with cream leather and walnut; last owner since 2011 with just three previous
keepers and little recent use
Supplied new in September 1999 , on a V-plate registration
by Reg Vardy Jaguar of Aberdeen this XK8 (X100 series) would have been, and
still is a striking car finished in Phoenix Red with cream hide and Burr walnut
trim sat on standard 18inch 7-spoke alloy wheels.
The car has had just four owners, the current since May
2011 and it has covered a modest 101,498 miles in its 21 years. A letter from
the vendor in the file informs us the car hasn’t seen much, if any use in the
last 5 years and has since been treated to new discs, pads and calipers along
side a stripped and refurbished handbrake. The car has also been serviced
including a gearbox oil change although there is no documentary evidence a quick
glance at the brakes suggests this to be the case but it would clearly benefit
from some much needed road miles and use.
In the history file we find the V5C, owners pack with
manuals and service book which shows 11 stamps including PDI. The first 7 are by
Jaguar main dealers the following 4 by independent garages with the last stamped
service in June 2011 at 81,998 miles. There is one additional stamp for Jaguar’s
anti-corrosion inspection record in April 2000 at 11,785 miles by supplying
dealer Reg Vardy.
In addition to the above we have 5 old MOT certificates
and a current MOT valid until June 2021 with some minor advisories noted.
Smart, very red and still very sleek, a good X100 series
XK8 or XKR is still a great car to drive and enjoy so we would suggest snap one
up whilst they remain affordable.
