Description
1965 Austin-Healey Sprite MkIII
An older
restoration that has been sitting for some time; essentially very solid; from a
deceased estate
This spritely 1965 Austin-Healey has clearly had a
plenty of work done to it over the years. The bodywork remains in solid order,
although the paint looks to have been applied at home.
Invoices on file
suggest a restoration in 2004, which included new rings for a 1,275cc engine,
which its engine number would also suggest. It had a new clutch, wiring loom,
exhaust as well as new std big end bearings, mains, timing chain and oil pump at
this time along with rafts of the small parts needed to make a nice
car.
The interior of the car is smart, with perfectly serviceable carpets
and good seats along with a good hood.
It has obviously been unused for
some time as the engine will need to be freed before use. That said, the car has
a lot of potential and looks like a straight-forward project.
It comes
with a handbook, brochure, Haynes restoration manual and rafts of bills and
there is a spare wire wheel in the boot. Its most recent MOT dates from
2012.
