Finished in sapphire black with half black leather and cloth interior the Z4 is in more comfortable SE specification with less aggressive styling and more manageable 10-spoke 17inch alloy wheels giving a more pliant ride than its M-Sport sibling. This car features the punchy yet economical 2.0-litre four-cylinder mated here to BMW’s excellent six-speed manual transmission which flexibly extracts the best from the 147bhp engine yet returns excellent economy.
