Traditional Clinker made River Boat
No
Reserve
Sympathetically refurbished;
Stuart single cyclinder engine; 15ft red, white and blue vessel with
accompanying trailer
At no reserve
this magnificent little boat should fly (or sail….) away. Whether you live by
the sea, on the broads or have a little hideaway you go and visit occasionally,
she should be for you.
We are not
sure how far she dates back but we assume she was first built between the 1930s
and 1960s. The owner believes that she was originally used to transport goods
between Littlehampton and Arundle in Sussex. More recently she has been floating
in Chichester Marina after our vendor had completed a very sympathetic
restoration.
Showing
amongst the photographs are some scans of what the boat looked like before work
began. The majority of it being made up of completely rebuilding the stern. We
believe the engine was also tinkered with to get it running, even coming with
the original Stuart instruction book and two spare spark
plugs!
Due to ill
health, work on the little clinker has unfortunately ceased and she is now ready
for a new custodian to take her out onto the water. Two sails accompany her (if
you run out of fuel) although they may need a little stitching after not being
used for many years.
Red, white and
blue, coming with a trailer too, it might be hard to hide for a Christmas
present but hey, who needs special occasions for
presents!
