1976 Land Rover Lightweight
No
Reserve
First registered for the road in 1987; Range Rover
differentials; X9 Superwinch; used regularly as a workhorse; driven 50 miles to
the sale
Registered to
our vendor since 1997, regularly used and put through MOTs, this lightweight
petrol Land Rover has only had two other registered keepers since being first
DVLA recorded in 1987.
Originally
serving as the rugged and no-nonsense military version of the leaf sprung Land
Rovers of the day, they were of course specifically made with the armed forces
in mind and although this one spent few years with the army, it has been put to
work by our vendor on his farm for most of its life, getting involved with day
to day activities and being adapted over time. It is of course now free to tax,
now fitted with some Range Rover differentials and a very handy X9
Superwinch.
The vendor
would be the first person to admit that this landy has been rather ‘used and
abused’ over the years and it is certainly a little shabby, but all in a good
and practical sort of way!
The car was
driven from Cheltenham for the auction and although did not have any hiccups,
the vendor did carry some extra fuel in the back just in case there were any
unexpected leaks. It should be noted that although it does not need an MOT
legally, it has not had one since 2017, when it had quite a few advisories which
can be seen online. Obviously, bidders should make a point of coming to view in
person of they can and have a good look underneath if they want to take her out
on the road in future.
