Description
1969 Morris 1000 Saloon
Older restoration; a
smart Morris in solid order requiring light recommissioning to the brakes
following a period of R&R
This 1969 Minor was delivered to its
first owner, a Mr Rixson of Bexleyheath in September 1969 through John
C Beadle Ltd of Dartford.
Painted Almond Green, it retains its Passport
to Service book, although other than the delivering dealer, this remains
unstamped. Other paperwork includes three old MOTs from the late 1990s and
an MOT from 2011 showing that just 100 or so miles have been covered since. It
also comes with an old style logbook and its current V5C.
We are
not sure when the car was restored, but it certainly has been, and done well too
judging from the underside of the car. The paintwork is very presentable,
although the painted section of the rear bumper shows some deterioration, but
overall the car gives the impression of having been well looked after. It has
been off the road for some time, covered in blankets in a dry garage and
although running and driving, will need attention to the brakes which are
sticking on. The owner has been ill for a long time, hence its inclusion in the
sale today.
The boot area is in very good order as is the interior which
retains its original seats. The car comes with a handbook and factory workshop
manual, as well as numerous other books on the model.
The engine started
promptly (on rather stale petrol) and sounded healthy. We suspect a weekends'
fettling would do the necessary, the end result would be a very nice little
Morris indeed.
