1978 Porsche 924

Reserve
Early 2.0 4-speed manual example with scope to
improve further; original wheels included
Dating from January 1978 this early Porsche 924 features the Audi/VW
derived 2.0-litre engine with Porsche cylinder head and produced 95bhp driving
the rear wheels via 4-speed manual transmission.
Finished in red and
sitting on a set of after-market Calibre X-spoke alloy wheels with black and
polished lip the car has potential despite the need for some cosmetic
remediation and dare we suggest alternative wing-mirrors!
The car comes
to us from a retired automotive studies lecturer and was worked on by him with
students during his 4-year ownership. The front seats have been changed for some
non-Porsche vinyl items although the rear seat looks to be original, and the
original wheels are also included.
Starting, running and stopping, it’s
clear the car requires further work to get it up to scratch and usable on a
daily, reliable basis but the basics look to be there. The history file includes
the V5C showing 16 former keepers, old SORN doc, sundry bills including for a
Gates timing belt in May 2018, blower motor in 2016 and water pump in 2017 and a
sole old MOT dated 2015 at 94,334 miles – the car currently showing 98,017
miles.
Offered here at No Reserve, the highest bid takes it
away.
