Description
1992 Citroen BX TZD Turbo Hurricane
No
Reserve
Quirky BX diesel; Hurricane edition;
classic motoring on a shoestring
This well specified Hurricane
edition BX comes with the usual refinements, four power windows, rear sun
blinds, sunroof and plush velour upholstery - all on top of the expected
Citroen luxuries such as hydro-pneumatic suspension, power steering
and hydraulic power brakes - just like a mini-CX in fact.
The
copy V5C says it has had five previous keepers and a new keepers slip is
included in the file. There is a handbook and comprehensively stamped service
book with 16 service stamps to 84,964 in 2005. The odometer now shows 131,000
miles.
There are a number of bills and invoices on file, including one
for a replacement engine in 2016 - this does not confirm the mileage on this
unit. In addition, Ivor Searle refaced the valves, seats and head face two
months later - we assume to the replacement engine. There is evidence of a new
cambelt in 2018, and also a new, boxed cambelt along with a Haynes manual to
show you how to fit it supplied in the car.
The MOT expires on the 28th
October, the day of the sale and it will require remedial attention to the outer
sills which have a couple of holes each side in order to get a fresh ticket.
These are not huge and the inner sills look sound so it should
be straightforward to sort. We were happy to see that the suspension
stayed up for some considerable time after it arrived and the
car was driven to us for the sale.
Fitted with a zippy 1.9 Turbo
diesel, these BXs have a good turn of speed, use very little fuel and are
extremely comfortable. This one is offered at No Reserve so the best bid
buys the car.
