2000 Audi TT 225 Convertible

Reserve
Earlier 3-owner example from 11 year
lady-ownership with desirable 'baseball-glove' interior; punchy 225bhp engine
with quattro drive-train, manual 'box and 12 service stamps
Dating from October 2000, this iconic Audi TT Roadster was supplied
new by Dovercourt Audi of London is a smart first-generation example of the
stylish performance convertible, presented in Desert Green Pearl (LZ6W) with
matching green mohair soft-top and rides on its original 6-spoke 17inch alloy
wheels with matching Vredstein tires.
Under the bonnet, we find the
popular 225bhp 1.8 litre APX four-cylinder 20valve engine with K04 turbocharger
driving all four wheels as a Quattro variant through 6-speed manual transmission
giving exciting performance, heightened no doubt by dropping the roof for an
extra rush.
Inside, we find the "Baseball Glove" style tan leather
interior with over-sized stitching reminiscent of the American Baseball glove
which sets the car off beautifully. In addition, we find factory fitted
radio/CD player, digital climate control with AC, on-board trip computer,
electric folding roof, electrically operated glass wind deflector, polished roll
hoops and heated seats.
The history file includes the V5C showing just
two former keepers to our lady owner of 10 years, the former keeper also a lady
owner for almost 9 years. The first owner appears to have been a Limited
company. The current lady owner has enjoyed the car and has now replaced it with
a newer TT RS hence this is now offered for sale at No Reserve.
In
addition, we find the owner’s pack, service book showing an impressive 12 stamps
plus last entry which is hand-written but is the same Somerset garage who have
serviced it regularly since 2008 (8 stamps). The rest are all Audi main dealers
in the earlier years, the most recent service in the book at 99,012 miles in
July 2017. The car currently shows 105,758 miles. Furthermore, we also find
an old V5C, a raft of invoices for parts and maintenance along with 10 old MOTs
plus current MOT valid until March 2022 which has recorded 11 minor advisories
(check online at check-mot.history.gov.uk and enter the reg).
Presenting
well, and in what we’d call an ‘honest state’ with some marks to the body and
wheels as pictured, there is some minor lacquer peel to the door mirror
covers commensurate with its age and mileage. The soft-top works as it should
with some marks present, but not unusual and likely removable with some good
products and elbow grease. We noted during photography the ABS light came on.
The vendor reports it’s done this intermittently for a number of
years.
This Audi TT roadster is understood to drive well, having been
driven some 150 miles to the sale by the current owner, who reported that it
performed as it should on the run up from Devon.
