Supplied new by Lancaster Garages Ltd of Colchester in July 1989 this retro 760 Turbo hails from the 700 series launched in 1982 and comes to us in classic boxy estate form (known as the 765 internally) and is finished in dark grey and rides on its original wheels.

Under the bonnet (aluminium from 1988) we find the 2.3 litre B230 turbo intercooled engine driving the front wheels via 4-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, we find a supremely comfortable, well spec’d cabin including black leather seats with electric driver’s seat, two stage heated seats, climate control with A/C, period car phone, heated mirrors and rear screen, Pioneer radio/CD player, sunroof, electric windows, mirrors, electric aerial and front and rear fog lights.

Showing just 68,620 miles this 760 is low mileage compared with the majority and looks to be in an original, unmolested order. The history file includes the V5C showing 5-former keepers to the current business, the owner’s pack and service book revealing 10 stamps and 1 hand-written entry, the last in October 2021, couple of early Volvo service check list sheets from 30 miles and 6,349 miles plus 2 old MOTs and the current valid until November 2022 recording no advisories. The MOT history indicates the car to have seen only limited use, covering only 11,000 miles over the last 11 years.

Crying out for some regular use, this 760 Turbo Intercooled example of the venerable and ever-so-Volvo styled example should reward the new owner with pace, space, comfort and practicality for little money. Very under-rated and now very cool.
