Description
1933 Austin Seven RP Saloon
A nicely mellowed
example which has been slumbering for many years; in super order; kept in a
heated garage; easy recommissioning required
This late-model chrome
radiator Seven has been in the vendor's hands since 1999. Driven home and used
for a short period of time, it was parked up in his heated garage and for a
variety of reasons (not to do with the car) has barely turned a wheel
since.
The history file includes a continuation buff logbook which shows
it was living in the Midlands in the 1970s, our vendor acquiring the car from a
lady in Stratford on Avon.
Looking through the invoices on file, it
appears that the engine had an overhaul in 1989, since when it has covered
barely 1,000 miles. It turns over nicely on the crank handle so we see no reason
why a new battery and some fresh fuel wouldn't have it up and running in short
order - it was 'running when it stopped'...
The bodywork is in very
nice condition, as is the original upholstery inside - all in all it is a very
nice little Austin 7 crying out for a simple recommission and some proper
use.
With the Austin 7 Centenary coming up in 2022, this looks like the
ideal opportunity to get involved.
