1929 Morgan Super Aero
Genuine B-Chassis Super
Aero; highly original and super-rare; steel flywheels and new barrels; loads of
patina; gorgeous...
Not all Morgan Three Wheelers were born equal,
and if you know your three-wheeler onions, you will know that a B-chassis Super
Aero is the most equal of all.....genuine examples are very thin on the ground,
with a single-figure survival rate according to 'experts'.
The most
sporting available at the time, when the three-wheeler was in its heyday, the
two-speeder Super Aeros were rapid, stable and enormous fun to
drive.
Supplied new by Beart and Co, Morgan dealers, we are told it
retains its original engine (a rare thing on these early high-performance cars)
and sits on its correct split-rim wheels (a good thing) and Newton
shocks.
The engine has been rebuilt in the not too distant past with new
steel flywheels and new barrels and although not run for a few years, was
running when it stopped.
No fewer than three buff logbooks on file list
an impressive array of past owners, the current having acquired it in 1972 while
at university in Leeds.
As you can see, it has plenty of 'oily rag'
patina, from years of love and hard use, but appears all present and correct and
would be the envy of any paddock or club gathering.
We have not attempted
to fire it up since it has been on site and reckon that it
will need a bit of careful coaxing into life after a period off
road.
If you've ever had a three wheeler on you radar, this is the one to
have.
