Description
2010 Porsche 911 Coupe (997 Gen2)
Just 54,500
miles from new; two owners from new; manual: super condition; super history:
super-car
Anyone who reads performance car magazines will have long
since learned an undeniable truth – for sheer technical excellence, driving
thrills and day-to-day reliability, there is no finer sportscar on the planet
than the Porsche 911.
Every year, with ruthless regularity, it trounces
all other marques for whichever ‘Sportscar Of The Year’ group test it is entered
into, the judges always saying they just can’t imagine how it can be improved –
until the next 911 comes along and proves to be better still. Continuously
developed since 1963, it is the epitome of Teutonic engineering excellence and
delivers a seat-of-the-pants driving experience that, once savoured and
mastered, makes every other car feel weak and flabby by comparison.
The
997 generation that ran from 2005 to 2012 was typical of the breed, being
faster, lighter and more fuel efficient than its already crushingly capable 996
predecessor. In 2008, the Gen 2 models (as here) became more powerful still with
345bhp on tap thanks to a new Direct Fuel Injection system which also
improved fuel consumption and emissions.....plus the brakes and
suspension were upgraded as well. All were toweringly capable machines that
could lap the Nurburgring in 8 minutes or less – the threshold for entry to the
supercar club.
This lovely two owner example was acquired by the
vendor in 2016 through Kingsdown Prestige, Corsham with just 28,000 miles
under its wheels. It has been fastidiously maintained throughout its
life.
Delivered in Arctic silver with black leather, it was well
specified with an all-leather interior including the front and rear seat covers,
all leather lining and front seat heating. It also had a green tinted screen,
DVD nav with GSM phone and a sound pack incorporated with a multi-media
interface, multi-function steering wheel, park assist, a 12v socket in the
glovebox and floor mats.
The service book shows six stamps, the
first three in 2012, 2014 and 2016 at Porsche main dealers, with an additional
three stamps from our vendor at Peter Chambers Automotive near Tewkesbury in
2017, 2019 and November 2021 by which time the mileage had risen to 54,077
miles.
On top of the full bookpack, comes a file with the original
Porsche Certificate of Conformity, plus numerous further bills for care and
maintenance. These include replacing a leaking waterpump pipe, tandem pump and
brakes pipes at Dick Lovett Porsche (£1,296), a nearside control arm at Porsche
Center Tewkesbury (£287), removal of all inner arch protectors and undertrays,
replace offside control link, jet wash and waxoil the complete underside (£936),
a new lower steering joint and brake pipes with Peter Chambers (£489), regassed
a/c in July 2021 and all new front hoses which entailed removing all undertrays
and arch liners again at Peter Chambers (£653) in January 2022.
Its
current no advisory MOT runs until March 2023 and the car looks and drives as
well as its service history suggests.
Driven to us, it is very
reluctantly offered for sale due to downsizing - his loss, your
gain!
