1926 Citroen B14 Roadster
Fun, lightweight
Vintage car from a deceased estate
On offer from a deceased estate,
this Citroen project is nearing completion and just needs that final push to get
it over the line.
Imported into the UK in 2016, it was first UK
registered in February 2021 having been rebuilt into its current form by the
vendor's late husband from a complete wreck....
Photos on file show it
with the remnants of its original coupe body, the car having suffered the usual
'French farmer pickup' conversion at some distant point in the
past.
A dating letter from the Citroen Car Club which was used to
obtain its current V5C states it was a B14 Coupe, although as you can see, a
light and rakish sporty pointed tail body now sits in place.
This is
made of fibreglass, which looks a solid job and there is clear evidence of
much work having been done over the last few years. The chassis appears to have
been stripped and painted and new grease nipples fitted which bodes well. The
wheels have been converted from solid disc wheels to more sporting wires, and
the car comes with a spare set.
We don't know much more about it and
have not attempted to start it, although the engine turns over freely on the
starter and the battery still holds charge. It has an alternator conversion,
although as this is located directly below the carburettor, we
would suggest a shield of some sort.
It carries a nice pair of CAV
Model B headlights and cheeky mascot on the radiator. Most of the wiring is in
place and a few weekends work could have it back on the road.
