Description
2008 Jaguar XK Convertible (X150)
Very clean
and tidy; XKR wheels and badges; quad exhausts; subject to a Cat S insurance
claim in 2017 and subsequently repaired
Launched in
2005, the gorgeous X150 version of the Jaguar XK8 was styled by Ian Callum and
was made entirely of aluminium. Initially powered by a naturally aspirated 4.2
V8 producing 296bhp, from 2007 it was also available in supercharged form as the
XKR. Aesthetic differences included four-way dual exhausts, redesigned front
bumper and bonnet louvres for improved engine airflow and distinctive ‘R’ logos
and badges on the exterior and interior.
First
registered in November 2008, this XK looks most impressive in red with a black
leather interior and a brown electric soft top that functions as it should. At
some point it has been dressed up as an XKR with black XKR alloy wheels, black
wing mirrors, quad exhausts, XKR front mesh and rear badge.
The V5C records five former keepers and notes that the car was
subject to a Category S insurance loss (in November 2017) but was declared
suitable for repair. This appears to have been carried out to a high standard –
the body and paintwork look to be in excellent condition.
The odometer shows 110,109 miles but an online MOT history check
shows that the mileage in November 2016 was 195,876 and in January 2018 was
98,303 miles so the true total is unconfirmed - we suspect it was incorrectly
recorded in 2016 and should have been 95,876 but we cannot confirm that. There
is no service book to shed any light on the matter although there is an invoice
for an oil service and inspection which was carried out In January 2022 at
109,948 miles. The MOT runs to January 2023 with no advisories recorded.
A bit of a dark horse all round, it certainly
looks smart and has been starting promptly and running beautifully as we have
moved it around on site with a very fruity exhaust note and is estimated
accordingly.
