Description
Spent 40 years of its life in the same family; original
RHD UK market car; most recently serviced by Itialian car specialists, Tanc
Barratt Ltd
A UK market car, this Fulvia
was purchased by its initial Glaswegian owner in January 1972 from Lancia
in Wembley, as per the original guarantee on file, and appears to have
originally been a shade of Bronze Longchamps.
The current registered keeper’s family have owned the car since the
mid 1980s and we believe it was serviced annually until approximately 2011
when it was taken off the road, having covered just over 98,000 miles. At some
point during this period it would also have been changed to its current bright
red, which apart from some minor bubbling and chips, seems in good order. It has
not yet reached 99,000 miles.
In 2021 the car
was taken to Italian car specialists, Tanc Barratt of Ludlow, for a thorough
recommissioning and service for a total cost of £5,000. This included a complete
fuel system clean, a strip down of the famous V4 engine, as required to service
and replace gaskets and seals etc. Blocked carburettors were also sonic cleaned
and restored. Battery and all fluids were replaced, followed by an overhaul of
the braking system and suspension components. The body was also attended to
involving cutting away, fabricating and some welding to the footwells, sills and
jacking points.
In late 2022, some further work was done by Tanc to
improve the smooth running of the engine and once finished and the owner
satisfied, it was decided to be offered for sale and was driven to Brightwells
for the auction.
Overall, this seems a very
presentable Series 2 Fulvia with good honest history, some expected age-related
patina to the interior and not a lot to worry about externally or
mechanically.
