Description
Tidy late model XJ40 4.0 example showing just 60,000 miles that's
covered less than 5,500 miles in 17 years
Dating
from March 1994 this late model XJ40 series Jaguar XJ comes to us in desirable
Sovereign specification and is finished in burgundy riding on its original 16”
flat face alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet, we
find the later 4.0 AJ6 inline six-cylinder 24-valve DOHC petrol engine good for
c.245bhp and a surprising 392NM of torque driving the rear wheels via four-speed
automatic transmission.
Inside, we find
rosewood trim, cream leather/leatherette piped red, cruise control, climate
control with AC, electric windows, electric mirrors, heated rear screen,
original jaguar radio/Cassette player and heated electric seats with driver
memory.
The car presents well and shows just
60,007 miles with a few limited, localised marks as pictured. It was driven
to the sale and moved around with ease as we took these shots and
videos.
The history file includes the V5C
revealing seven former keepers to our vendor, a couple of bills including a
£1,861 spend in September 2021 on a replacement head gasket and associated works
at 59,909 miles and a further £464 spent in March 2022 on a new catalytic
convertor and new shock absorber bushes.
The
last MOT expired just prior to the sale on 6th April 2023 when it
last recorded four minor advisories. The MOT history shows the car has seen very
little recent use and just c.5,500 miles covered in the last 17 years and is
evidently crying out for some use. It is on offer at No Reserve so the highest
bid takes it away.
