Description
UK supplied new; much recent mechanical work; rewired; overhauled
dynastart; roll hoop; spare wheel; go anywhere
Supplied new through
UK official Haflinger Importers Ryders in March 1968, we believe that this sound
little Haffy was never UK registered for the road.
The original factory
order sheet from Steyr Daimler Puch lists chassis number 535.9202 as coming to
the UK painted in beige and fitted with a short two-seater canvas
top.
Nothing is known of its early history, the vendor acquiring the car
from his cousin to supply for some film work. This required it to be reliable so
he spent considerable time making it so. A new exhaust manifold, carburettor
rebuild kit, clutch cable, wiper spindles and trackrod ends were supplied by
Haflinger Technik in Lanarkshire. They also supplied new points and a condenser,
along with a hand brake cable and the vendor added a set of LED headlights and
indicators.
He also rewired it, removing and reconditioning the
starter/dynamo unit and as you can see, it comes with a spare wheel and roll
bar.
If you need the ultimate mountain goat, or in this case Haflinger
pony, this tough little beast is just what you need. Their diminutive size and
four wheel diff locks mean they can get to places nothing else can get anywhere
near.
