Lot Ended
Description
Owned for the last five years since being purchased from a deceased
estate; recent expenditure; recorded as only having one previous
keeper
Originally built in January 1951, this
Series 1 80in was first registered on its current number, GNV 240, to a Mrs E
Lloyd of Pipewell Hall in Kettering, Northamptonshire, although almost
immediately afterwards was registered to its long-term second owner
who kept it until 2007.
After a
56-year straight ownership, it was transferred to the current registered keeper.
This low number of keepers are recorded within the paperwork, although the V5C
states only one former keeper.
The Land Rover
register record it correctly as having an aluminium bulkhead and also confirm
the long-term ownership.
We
are told that it was given a genuine replacement chassis in the 1970s
and although there is no paperwork to prove this, it does look to be the case.
At some point we understand that one of the doors was stolen, hence the
different coloured driver's side.
More
recently, we are told that it has been fitted with a new carburettor,
reconditioned fuel system, overhaul of the brakes, new master cylinder, new
wiring loom and all clocks and gauges so they should all be
operational.
