Description
Current owner 23 years; restored some years ago and kept garaged
and lightly used since; looks great in Emerald Fire green
metallic
First registered in December 1968, this charming MG has
been in the current ownership for the last 23 years and has had much time and
expenditure lavished upon it during that time.
Between 2007 and
2012 the car was extensively restored with the brunt of the work carried out
from 07-09, documented by invoices and photos on file. The restoration consisted
of lots of new goodies to keep this MG in tip-top order including new
brakes (fitted a couple years ago), new springs, new radiator as well as a slew
of other items.
During the restoration a decision was made to respray the
whole car, a photo album showing it stripped back to bare metal, including
the whole floor. All wings and doors were removed, panels were replaced as
required, new sills were fitted as well as some fabrication/ welding in various
places. The restoration was a combined effort of a group of friends on their
spare weekends over a few years.
The body and paint work was all done
under the watchful eye of Body & Paint Cheltenham Ltd, and we are told the
stunning Jaguar Emerald Fire Green Metallic paint was laid down by an
ex-Rolls-Royce painter.
The interior benefitted from new seats and door
cards (the original seats are also included in the sale), the wire wheels
were refurbished and the car still looks good to this day, having been
kept garaged and used very sparingly since the restoration was completed.
Free to tax and MOT-exempt, its last MOT expired in April 2017 with no
advisories and it has only covered around 100 miles since.
