Lot Ended
Description
Owned for the last 47 years; rare and very pretty coachbuilt example;
partly restored; parts to finish; sound example which needs some time in the
workshop; V5C
In some ways an unusual chassis upon which to
coachbuild this very pretty Salmons DHC body, it was first registered on
Christmas Eve 1935 - a very nice Christmas present for its first
owner.
By 1942 it was living near Bath, moving to Marlborough in 1972 and
coming into the hands of the vendor in 1976. It has been with him for the last
47 years!
At some point it was stripped for restoration which, as is
often the case, stalled and remains unfinished. There is lots good about the car
which looks solid in the body - the driver's door opening and closing nicely
which bodes well.
It comes with the parts to complete, including the
pram-irons, side lights and head lights, horns, wheel trims, instrument glass
and lovely Salmons and Sons threshold plates - it even comes with some
tools.
A straightforward restoration project on offer at No Reserve,
there is lots to like about this elegant Standard which must have cut quite a
dash in its day....
