Description
Part Restored car for completion; quality repaint
First
registered on 19th June 1954, this 403 was originally painted blue.
By
the mid '60s, it was living in London with a BOC member Alan Kemp, by now
painted green. Its last MOT certificate dates from 1989 at 33,387 miles which
would have been 133,387 miles.
Brian acquired it from a Mr Martin of
London in the mid 1980s, by which time it was painted red, the car having
suffered some minor damage to a rear wheel arch in 1985 with insurance quotes
and invoices for repair on file.
Various lists indicate the work Brian
had planned, but it wasn't until around 2017 that work really got going on its
restoration. Bills from Restorecar in Blockley, where it was also professionally
painted to a very high standard.
The interior has been largely retrimmed
and the car comes with an engine and gearbox and the trim parts present in the
photos.
The paperwork includes a continuation buff logbook and an old
style V5, along with various notes, old MOTs and invoices.
A superb
project mostly completed, and very nicely done too, this looks like an easy
project to complete.
