Description
Appealing in black this earlier example features O/D; additional
removable soft-top (new, unused) in the boot along with 2 spare wire wheels and
tonneau covers; driven 50 miles to the sale
Dating from May 1969 this
earlier MGB looks rather appealing and unusual in black, not a colour we often
see on MGBs.
With our vendor since purchase
in June 2017, it is only being sold to make way for another car. The vendor has
enjoyed his 7 years with the MGB, ensuring anything that needed doing was
done by his local garage, an independent Porsche and classic car specialist in
South Wales.
Under the bonnet, we find the
typical 1798cc B-series four-cylinder petrol engine mated to four-speed manual
transmission with optional overdrive.
Inside, we find a black
leather interior, three-spoke Motolita steering wheel (original is with us in
store) along with a hood cover, full tonneau and spare removable new hood, two
spare wire wheels and other bits in the boot.
The history file
includes the V5C, driver’s handbook, 10 old MOTs and a selection of
invoices showing recent maintenance which includes a new water pump and ignition
coil in April this year costing £476, service in May 2018, conversion to single
12v battery plus service in June 2023 costing £507 along with a few more
historic bills.
Now MOT exempt, the
car’s last MOT expired in June 2024 recording just one minor advisory for a worn
brake disc.
Driven some 50 miles to the
sale, the car looks most appealing at the modest guide price suggested with its
shiny chrome bumpers and unusual black coachwork.
