Description
1976 Austin Mini Clubman Automatic
Just 33,500
miles showing and three owners from new; huge history file; original and
unmolested; very cute; original wheels and hubcaps included
The
impressive history file on this nice, original Clubman includes an invoice from
Cutts of Chipping Campden dated 1977 as a used car. It had been first registered
as a demonstrator and used by the MD's wife, covering some 10,000 miles
in its first year.
It was then purchased by Cyril Parkes for
£1,815 from Cutts and he was to keep it for the next 29 years, passing
the car to his nephew in 2006 who is the (third) current registered
keeper.
There are various older bills on file, showing a new rear
subframe and brake overhaul in 2005, just before he sold it to his nephew
and its Passport to Service has five stamps and a PDI up to 1979
by which time it had covered 13,517 miles. There are also a couple of
handbooks.
There are old MOTs which suggest it was off the road
between 1984 and 2005, although the precise history during this time cannot be
confirmed. The 1984 MOT shows 23,053 miles and its test in 2005 23,204
miles.
Since arrival on site, it has been starting well and running and
driving around as one would expect.
A rare little estate, with plenty of
space inside, automatic convenience which can squeeze into the tightest of
spaces in town - there is a lot to like about its originality, condition
and usability.
